This week, the children took part in European Languages Day which was a fabulous way of us encouraging them to learn more about the world in which we leave and promote global cohesion. They each had a different country to focus on and they then presented their learning to one another and their parents during our Macmilllan Coffee Morning teaching others about their focus country.
Reception focused on France, learning some French, looking at special buildings in France and learning a French song Frere Jacque. In Year One, Brilliant Bears focused on Germany, learning about some important places in Germany and looking at the work of Paul Clee, a famous German Artist and replicating some of his work. Outstanding Owls focused on Poland, learning to tell everybody their name in Polish, looking as some traditional Polish stories and food that is eaten in Poland. Dazzling Ducks focused on Italy, looking at the significance of the Italian flag and learning what each of the different colours meant, tasting different foods from Italy like biscoti and comparing and contrasting life in Italy to life in England.
Well done everybody on a fantastic day and keep up your learning about different cultures in various parts of our world.
