Today we were very excited because we had a visit from a theatre company to help us to understand the British values we have learned in school. The show was about a girl who did not like following the rules and she didn’t like being told to respect other people. Her magic aunty took her to all kind of alternative Great Britains where there were different rules or no rules at all! Some of the alternative Great Britains had different voting systems too, where only some people could vote or nobody could vote. In the end, she learned that rules are good because they help to keep us safe and they make sure that the world is fair. She also realised that Great Britain is actually a great place to live because we are all free and we have democracy. We all had the chance to vote using parts of our body to indicate our view during the performance.
After the show it got even more exciting because the actors from the show came to do workshops in our classrooms! In the workshops we played games that helped us to understand that we are all important and equal, even though we are different. We finished the morning with a debate in our classrooms where we discussed different topics and we all had the opportunity to share our ideas.
