Nationally, October is known as ‘Black History Month’, where tribute is celebrated for inspirational people in the past who have made a significant difference. At RFPS, we have been learning about the lives of these significant individuals and celebrating the impact that they have made to our society. Our children have learnt about many people who have made a difference including, Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, Mary Seacole and Nelson Mandela.
Alongside of this, each year group were given the challenge to learn and perform a song by a Black Artist. All children rose to the challenge and performed the song that they had learnt to the whole school. It was a delightful moment which marked the end of Black History Month beautifully.
