Local Governing Body (LGB)
Rugby Free Primary School is primarily governed by Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow (LT2) Trust. However, in addition to LT2, we have an advisory board called the Local Governing Body (LGB).
The LGB’s main focus is on Teaching and Learning and Safeguarding aspects of school development. This attention on specific areas of education allows for in-depth support and challenge which aids school improvement further.
Instead of opting for
ad-hoc solutions, the
need of the hour is to tackle the root cause of the problems.
Who is part of the LGB and what do they do?
The LGB is made up of a group of highly skilled and dedicated parents, teachers and members of the local community who are committed to the constant improvement of RFPS. All of the members of the LGB give up their time to ensure that RFPS offers high quality and safe education to all of its pupils and the local community. The LGB holds 6 meetings per year where they challenge the leaders of the school about aspects of Teaching and Learning. Robust and effective discussions take place within these meetings and actions decided upon. The LGB members also come in to school on a regular basis to see learning in action. They observe lessons with a leader, look at the pupils’ progress in their books, meet with teachers to discuss their lessons and look at the curriculum and talk to the children about their experiences at school. Please find attached the list of LGB members and their specific area of school development or curriculum subject focus.
If you are interested in becoming a LGB member, please email the school office and we would love to have a chat about the role with you. Although we have no vacancies at present, we may do in the future.
