The Right Honourable Nicky Morgan, Secretary of State for Education, visited Rugby Free Primary School today. Some of our children gave her a tour of their school, talked to her about the many things they have enjoyed since September and showed her the different learning areas in their classroom and outdoor area. The children even convinced Nicky Morgan to read them a story in their library. Towards the end of her visit, all of our children sang their school song to her which she thoroughly enjoyed. Nicky Morgan commented via twitter after the visit “loved my visit to Rugby Free Primary School – inspirational to see all they’ve achieved since opening in September”
Nicky Morgan was accompanied by Mark Pawsey, local MP for Rugby, Local Councillors, the candidate for Police Commissioner and Members of our Trust and Governing Body. There were also many press officials who joined us for this special visit.
This was a wonderful day for our children, our staff and our whole school community. We were very privileged to welcome Nicky Morgan to our school and we were particularly proud when Nicky Morgan commented at the end:
“We want to make sure every child gets a great education like the one being offered at Rugby Free School”
