Today, as part of our continual drive to teach our children British Values, we observed a minutes silence as a school remembering those who died or were injured serving their country during the war. We wore our poppies which we had bought with pride and made poppies to put on display to show to all our parents and visitors as they came to school.
WE REMEMBER THEM.
Our School Council proudly showed off our school shower of poppies.
Our parents, governors and visitors enjoyed sharing our display and talking to us about it’s significance.
We observed a minutes silence… first we listened to the special poem In Flanders Field which reminded us why the poppy is special, we then put our heads down and remembered, in silence, all those who had died or were injured during the war and finally we thanked the school council for working with the British Legion to organise the selling of poppies to us.
