We prioritise the well-being of our pupils and aim to create strong relationships where our pupils can openly discuss their thoughts and feelings and know that they will always be listened to and made to feel safe.

We focus highly on our pupils having an excellent transition between KS1 and KS2. Year Three is the beginning of our pupil’s journey into KS2 therefore we place lot of emphasis on teaching the children to become independent and take further responsibility for their learning. We use the first half term of Year Three to support our pupils in teaching and modelling the mature expectations which we believe will set the fundamentals for the rest of their primary schooling.

In Year Three we have designed our curriculum using the national curriculum and building upon vital knowledge and skills acquired in KS1. Our pupils learn through a range of exciting topics which introduce pupils to new learning which deepens their knowledge and understanding. Throughout these topics children will be exposed frequently to a variety of subjects including Maths, English, Art, Design Technology, Science, Music, PE, History, Religious Studies and Geography.

It also outlines what a typical day looks like for our Year Three children and contact information for your child’s class teacher. You will also find a long term plan which outlines which topics your child will be learning about throughout the course of their academic year.
