Welcome to Rugby Free Primary School’s website. We hope that you find the information provided here useful and informative.
RFPS was set up by the local Multi Academy Trust, Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow (LT2) and opened its doors in 2015 to our first Reception cohort. We are now in our 4th year of operation and have a thriving school serving the local community in Rugby and beyond. We currently have 240 pupils in 12 classes from Reception to Year 3 in our modern, spacious building and will continue to grow by 60 pupils per year, until we reach our full capacity of 420 children. We work alongside Rugby Free Secondary School as part of LT2 and strive to offer the best possible education to Rugby children.
RFPS is a warm, caring and inclusive school community where every child is valued as an individual. The talented and dedicated staff team work together to make learning enjoyable and purposeful which enables our children to become confident, successful and responsible young people. Maintaining high staffing levels is really important to us and our teacher/pupil ratio of 1:20 for core subjects ensures that we can meet the academic, social and emotional needs of every child.
Our curriculum is creative and diverse, making links between subjects and giving children opportunities to have a voice in their own learning. It takes the structure of Engage, Develop, Innovate and Celebrate. Children are encouraged to take an active part in a wide variety of enriching opportunities including pupil leadership teams, clubs, trips and visits, music, visitors and performance.
The strength of partnership with parents and the community means that the children have a strong sense of belonging and pride in their school. Our recent OFSTED Inspection highlighted this by reporting that “Pupils are extremely proud of their school. They wear their uniform smartly and enjoy the wide range of opportunities offered to them. Pupils are keen to tell visitors about the many strengths of their school.”
We hope that you enjoy exploring our website and that you are able to gain an insight into our school, values and ethos. I look forward to meeting prospective families and children who are very welcome to visit the school and experience what we have to offer.
