Home Learning

At RFPS we believe home learning is invaluable as it helps reinforce learning from within the classroom or supports pupils when preparing for future learning.

“RFPS provide a varied programme of activities for our children both within and outside of the standard day.”

Using feedback from our parents and pupils and reviewing the effectiveness of homework in primary school we have collectively decided on the following approach to homework:

  • A Maths or English activity set weekly
  • A school reading book which is sent home to be read
  • Spellings to be learnt

Homework activities are set in your child’s homework book. Work should be completed in the homework book or as stated in the homework e.g. if a child is making a model you can send this in or stick in the photograph of it.

Homework activities are set each Friday for the pupils throughout the entire school and should be returned to their class teacher by the following Wednesday.
